Chorus In Rememory of Flight

The focus of this immersive work is a three screen 45 minute film, for which we provided original score, mixing and sound design. This project utilised location recordings of choirs and musicians from Black communities across Europe. Our approach was to integrate these recordings alongside original compositions and sound design, taking the viewer on a journey through different cities. Mixed for 3.1 audio presentation, it has been exhibited at Barbican (London), Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon), Metro54 (Amsterdam).

'Chorus in Rememory of Flight' (2023-2025) is a cinematic portrayal of the Black experience. Spanning 6,500 kilometers, over the course of one year, Julianknxx travelled to nine European cities with colonial histories, in each of them collaborating with artists, musicians and choirs from the Black communities.
